Forehead skin tightening
When a large number of forehead lines appears, and the level of eyebrows drops below the normal level, it is time for the so-called forehead lift which will bring back the youthful appearance of your face.
Forehead, eyelids and lower parts of the face are the first to lose the tone due to ageing. This loosening may also lead to loosening of eyebrows which contributes to sad and tired look of the face and crates excess skin on the upper eyelids. The intervention is applied for primarily lifting the external part of the eyebrow, correction of vertical lines between eyebrows and long horizontal forehead lines, followed by tightening and lifting of the loose forehead skin.
The incision is made in the part of the head between upper poles of earlobes, forehead skin is released up to the eyebrows, and its excess is removed with previous neutralization of muscles that cause wrinkling. Lifting of eyebrows and forehead tightening may be performed endoscopically using minimum openings of 2 cm. This can be an independent procedure or performed together with the surgery for tightening loose face skin. Lifting of eyebrows may also be performed by a simpler surgical procedure using three smaller openings in the scalp and that procedure lasts significantly shorter, approximately 1 hour.
Depending in the surgical technique, the surgery lasts 2-3 hours and it is performed under local anaesthesia with intravenous analgosedation. Washing of hair and returning to everyday activities is possible after 2-3 days, while the stitches are removed between 10th and 15th day. Rare complications may include light swelling and rare blood bruises on the forehead.
