Breast-lifting is an aesthetic intervention that can be performed both with small and large breasts. Satisfaction with achieved results is common for both of these types.
With time, through the influence of gravity, and due to the weight of breast itself, as well as after sudden changes of weight, pregnancy and nursing, changes occur in size, shape and position of breast relative to the thorax, i.e. breast ptosis occurs.
There is a variety of surgical procedures that may be applied for performing suspension and lifting of breast tissue. Which procedure patients opt for, upon consulting a surgeon, primarily depends on the quality and quantity of the breast tissue itself as well as on the covering skin.
These interventions are carried out under general anaesthesia, they require detailed preoperative preparation and postoperative recovery period in our hospital in the duration of one or two days. Depending on the operation procedure, patients usually continue with some light everyday activities seven days upon surgery.
Breast lifting achieves excellent results in patients with breast ptosis. Scars begin to fade upon several months. It is very important to know that the results do not last for the rest of one’s life. Ageing, gravity, pregnancy and body weight changes affect the appearance of breasts and reintervention may be required.
